I want to thank everyone for your feedback. It means the world to us. After some careful consideration and listening to everyone’s voice, we will be adding a togglable ADS feature to Rogue Point for Early Access. This will allow support for both play styles mentioned by everyone here.

I will say that I understand the devs, who come from Black Mesa and that era of 90s FPS, must be going for a certain style. While I say that I understand there’s certainly an intent to make the game feel different, I will also say that the lack of an ADS option feels like an anachronism.

One way to phrase it is a friend who tried the demo with me said “this game has SWAT 4 gear but Counter Strike movement? What?”

Another way to phrase it, in my own personal opinion, is… It felt less weird playing Brutal DOOM via Q-Zandronum and suddenly having right-click ADS on some of the milspec guns than it does playing this and not having ADS.

Pair with that the feedback on right-click dynamic lean feeling wonky in some scenarios, and I just wonder at the details of this strategic choice.

Is the intent for lack of ADS plus a short mission timer to ensure that people keep moving? Doesn’t the short mission timer achieve that by itself? What if ADS doesn’t provide a spray benefit under sustained fire? What if using ADS merely slows you down and helps with visual aim, so the primary benefit is at most to better land a first shot? If there’s no ADS and no walk button, how are we supposed to slice the pie aside from running to each corner or doorway and tapping Q or E?

I personally wouldn’t consider it critical, but the fact that we have 7 votes on lack of ADS without even an persuasive argument being made does seem notable. And again, I get that COD has really “ruined” FPS gaming to the point where even DOOM mods being ADS back to a game that was never meant to have it…

But I have to agree with OP. Just feels weird to not have it, as much as I’m really enjoying a modernized, roguelite T-hunt, and I’m a guy who played pretty much every Rainbow Six game from the 90s onward, just for the hunt mode.
