At the outset, I’m a fan of the Dev and the Publisher. Kudos to the devs for building this and incorporating feedback. I have been trying Rogue Point for around 4 hours now. With all games, I test the game on: 1) keyboard/mouse, 2) Controllers (Ps5 and Xbox) wired to PC. I gauge FPS/shooter games based on how well balanced they are for Solos. (I play Solos v Squad mostly).
Most Crucial Feedback
Game balance for Solos: The final extract helo AI PvE is the killer for solos. I did not manage to extract successfully even once (I’m fairly skilled). Suggest that the devs consider: a) Either increasing the starting cash to bulk up on armour/meds/bullets; or b) Reducing AI PvE number for Solo players. This has already been noted by the Devs. This is a #1 priority to drive Player Engagement.
Server: I’m unable to find a squad on auto-fill to play games. I only got one game with 1 fellow player.
Game mechanics
Hat-tip to the map design and layout. Perhaps some visual cues may be added in game (compass color ping, or direction indicator) but are not a dealbreaker as the maps are fairly easy to remember.
Kudos to the visuals. I’m on a low-end GPU (2050 laptop gpu on a desktop rig) and was able to run the game with no lags, no latency/ping spike/game crash for the entire 4 hours duration. Bullet effects and headshots are rad!
Weapon progression is thankfully not linked to Extraction Consequence mechanics (failed exfil and you lose weapon/inventory).
