My playtest notes

The following are my notes, in the order in which I took them as I fired up the game for the first time. I absolutely feel like this game has potential, so please excuse the overall negative tone of my feedback.

-Intro cutscene is kinda comical and unserious looking

-Related, model of guy standing in main menu looks silly. Why is he wearing short-shorts and crop-top kevlar that doesn't cover most of his torso?

-Movement feels bad, too slow to start moving or change direction

-Animation error on N4-CR; left hand flickers in corner of screen during reloading

-Addendum to character design note above: after first mission and seeing unlocks, I now understand that the character looks bad because he's wearing the starter gear, but you may have set the bar too low; he just looks unserious.

-Game hosting menu is not intuitive; I was able to click through and start a game but I didn't immediately understand what I was selecting

-Decryption minigame is fun

-Enemy AI needs polish; they barely react to me and there doesn't seem to be any disincentive to eg kicking all doors

-Weapon pickups are strange; I can pick up the exact same gun and I'd expect to receive ammo, instead I lose all my ammo reserve. Likewise I pick up a shotgun and it's completely empty

-It feels bad to pick up a medkit when I still have 1 medkit charge remaining and just lose that charge

-I like the visual design of the airport level

-Headset lady said something about shooting guys in the behind, but I couldn't hear her over the sound of me shooting him in the face a lot. Which, admittedly, seemed to work, and honestly I'd prefer to just shoot 'em till they die anyway.

-The shotgun does barely any damage and feels unsatisfying to use

-Enemy density is weird; levels seem totally barren, right up until extraction after which guys all materialize at once.

-It's not communicated to me, or clear naratively, why bad guys all show up when I summon the extraction.

-Why can't I access the map during a mission?

-I was never presented with the Loadout menu, didn't even realize it existed until my second match

-Animation error on the big drum shotgun; instead of a shotgun shell, my character clips a whole magazine from a different gun into the drum

-"One sec stopping a bleed" is a hilarious voice line (not in a good way)

-Everything takes waaaaay too long. Speed up all the animations by at least double; reloading, climbing a ladder, kicking a door, healing. It just feels incredibly clunky and not dynamic or kinetic.

-Climbing up something grants complete immunity to berserkers

-I'm glad that mission failure doesn't deny you the progression rewards

Thanks for giving us a chance to see this early stuff, looking forward to what comes next.
